007 The Other Guys
So there have been 4 major Bond actors of note with 3 or more movies to their credit. Here are the other guys - Barry Nelson, David Niven, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton
1954 CLIMAX - CASINO ROYALE
CBS Television purchased rights and included in their live broadcast TV anthology style series CLIMAX. Mostly forgotten, this is why Ian Fleming's first Novel was never a movie made by the original production team of the movies. Being an American show, James first screen adaptation was a CIA (Called Combined Intelligence in movie) agent named Jimmy Bond. Felix Leiter of the CIA was named Clarence Leiter from British Intelligence (Makes Sense).
Ducking form assassin fire, Jimmy Bond dodges into Casino Royale, were e meets up with Clarence Leiter. Bond uses his Baccarat genius to defeat Le Chiffre, forcing him to be pushed out of Soviet Spy circles.Bond former girlfrend, Valerie Mathis (Also French Spy of Deuxieme) is on Le Chiffre's arm.
Le Chiffre captures and tortures Bond, looking for the check of his casino winnings. In a final showdown, Mathis frees herself from Le Chiffre using her as a shield long enough for Bond to shoot and kill.
Ian Fleming was approached to write a series based on the character. That never happened but many lead to books that eventually became movie ideas for the film series.

I love this movie. The perfect spoof, this is Pink Panther meets James Bond - well literally. It is total chaos. Truly not a "great" film except it was performed by some of the greatest comic actors of all time. Producer Charles K Feldman (Who obtained rights through a chain events following TV show) had hoped to produce this as a legit Bond film, similarly to the Thunderball deal with Kevin McClory. Unable to do the deal e decided to go with the Satire.
Sir James Bond (David Niven) is the original. The scene were British, American, French & Soviet "Inteligence" begs Bond out of retirement is hilarious. The character list alone sounds like a bad joke waiting to happen. He says NO until his mansion explodes. OK.
To fake out SMERSH (Always love that name - thought it was a spoof of SPECTRE until I saw earlier Bond films LOL) there are six fake James Bonds. Evelyn Tremble (Peter Sellers), Vesper Lynd (Ursula Andress - Also Honey Ryder from Dr No), Miss Moneypenny (Barbara Bochet), Mata Bond (Bond's Daughter from Mata Hari - a real spy killed in WW1), Coop (Terence Cooper) and "The Detainer" (Dalia Lavi).
Like the original book (and other movies/TV) much of the movie involves Bond(s) going after Le Chiffre (Played by Orsen Welles - Who turned down playing Goldfinger a few years before, wanted more money) via the card tables, etc.
Bond finds Jimmy Bond (Woody Allen) disguised as Dr Noah. Jimmy is hell bent on biological warfare to make all women beautiful, kill anyone 4'8" or taller. Jimmy is forced to swallow and atomic pill. During the final Calvary battle, Jimmy burps into explosion. Every on but Jimmy end up in heaven. Jimmy finds himself in Hell.

1969 ON HER MAJESTY's SECRET SERVICE
This is one of the best Bond Films. Often discarded as George Lazenby only made one movie, OHMSS has a more realistic tone and amazing villain (Telly Savalas as Blofeld). Lazenby himself was a no name plays the Bond role on the soft side, this allows for greater romantic story line.
Bond falls in love with Tracy (Contessa Teresa "Tracy" di Vicenzo). Tracy's father, Draco, agrees to help Bond, after Bond turns down large dowry to marry.
Bond finds Blofeld in Switzerland. Looking to retire and become the "Comte Balthazar de Bleuchamp" (Blofeld in French). In order to retire in peace, Blofeld intends to hold the world's agricultural supply ransom, employing his "Angels of Death". These girls are unsuspecting pawns being brainwashed at Swiss Clinic for Allergies to deliver biological agents to various parts of the world.
The ski chase is awesome. With Blofeld leading the henchmen himself - much more hands on as a main villain than in most Bond films. Bond is trapped under Avalanche while Tracy is captured.
While rescuing Tracy and stopping Blofeld, Blofeld escapes in a Bobsled, although severely hurting his neck.
Bond & Tracy get married, but while stopped on the roadside, Blofeld drives by and kills Tracy sitting in his Aston Martin.
I think this is the only movie with a tragic ending or sorts.
When I watched beginning of Diamonds are Forever the first time in order, the opening scene seems more like a neat revenge / clean up form this movie.

1987 LIVING DAYLIGHTS
Timothy Dalton was a great Bond, but only made two movies. Roger Moore was 59. "Remington Steele" forced producers to pass on Pierce Brosnan in the 1980s. Legal disputes delayed third filming and Dalton resigned after two - never all that enthusiastic for the role to begin with. LIVING DAYLIGHTS was the 4th most successful Bond film of all time. Dalton may have been one of my favorites due to the serious and gritty character that seemed more believable. Roger Moore was entertaining but that era got more and more silly...
We meet the new bond in a training mission gone wrong. Someone murders 004. Barely surviving Monkey attack (OK I think it was a Baboon), Bond gives chase, landing on army truck driven by assassin. Falling off cliff, Truck explodes as it hits water below, while Bond floats away and parachutes into yacht with Dalton's first Bond Girl.
Bond helps a KGB Officer defect. General Georgi Koskov (Jeoen Krabbe). Disobeying orders, he does not kill the female cellist / assassin. Bond smuggles Koskov out through Trans-Siberian Pipeline. Meanwhile numerous American and British agents are being killed.
Koskov shares that General Leonid Pushkin - new head of KGB - has revived Smiert Pionam (SMERSH S BACK!!! "Death to Spies") but then gets abducted from Safe House. Bond doubts the claims.
Returning to Chech Republic, Bond reizes Koskov's defection was staged when he finds Kara Milovy - te cellist/assassin that is actually Koskov's girlfriend. Q has turned Aston Martin into Bat-mobile. And the cello case sled border crossing is very amusing!!!
BOND "We have nothing to declare"
KARE "Just the cello" (cello, lo, lo - echo)
Meanwhile Pushkin cancels deals with American Arms Dealer, Brad Whitaker. Pushkin teams up with bond, faking Pushkin's assassination. Necros kills Saunders with automatic door after he discovers Koskov and Whitaker have financial history.
Kara drugs Bond. Bond escapes capture with Kara in Afghanistan along with Leader of local Mujaideen. At the Height of the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan, the locals team up with Bond to stop major Opium Shipment.
Bond slips on board cargo plane with bomb. Locals raid Soviet base on horseback. Naked Russians flee as portable outhouse/showers is pulled off its foundation. Bond flys away with plane. Necros slips on board. Bond fights with Necros - while Kara "flies" plane - throws him and Opium out of plane to his death, then throws bomb at Soviets to help locals win battle. The whole thing is very Indiana Jones if you ask me - in a good way.
Bond finds Whitaker back in Tangiers. In final gun battle, Bond kills Whitaker with exploding key cain activated by wolf whistle. Pushkin arrests Koskov. Kara gives final concert. General Gogol cameos. Bond awaits in dressing room. THE END
BOND Timothy Dalton
BOND GIRL - Kara Milovy (Maryam d'Abo)

1989 LICENCE TO KILL
Again another stellar Bond film from Timothy Dalton... I love this movie. It is darker and for more packed with stunts and action fitting a modern film. Benicio Del Toro as Dario and Robert Davi as Sanchez are possibly the best 1 - 2 Bond Villians of all time. Ruthless etc
Bond and Felix Leiter - on way to Felix's wedding - are picked up to help arrest drug lord, Franz Sanchez. Felix and James get back to the wedding just in time, dropping in by parachute.
Sanchez escapes, and his henchmen kill Felix's wife and wounding Felix. Bond goes after his own revenge, but is slowed down by M, who revokes his license to kill. Bond escape British watch dogs and goes rogue.
Bond interrupts a major drug deal by Milton Krest aboard the Wavekrest, stealing the money and destroying the drugs. Flying off with money plane as Krest's Men look for Bond in the water. With Pam Bouvier (who he recently rescued at the bar) they fly to Republic of Isthmus, where Q sneaks in some toys.
Bond poses as a hit man. His cover is helped when Hong Kong drug cops capture bond along with MI6 agent, Fallon (Not Jimmy, no relation). Sanchez's men rescue Bond.
Meanwhile Milton Cross shows up making excuses about the missing money. Sanchex finds the money in the decompression camber - placed there by Bond - and uses chamber to make Krest explode. Bloody!!!
Wayne Newton is hilarious as the womanizing relaxation expert that is the cover for Sancez's operation, where they convert drugs into gas and show buyers how to extract.
Bond sets fire to the factory with plenty of gas around and drags lead henchman Dario into a shredder.
In a major highway shoot out, Bond chases down Sanchez - fleeing in convoy of gas trucks filled with cocaine mixture. Bouvier fly Bond out in a plane. Bond takes out three of four trucks before final battle, wit Sanchez attacking Bond with Machete. The truck crashes. Oil is spewing. Sanchez is about to cut open Bond with machete. Bond finds the LIGHTER form Felix Leiter that has a very powerful flame thrower quality. Sanchez stumbles back into gas truck on fire. BIG EXPLOSION...

007 w/ Sean Connery
Here is a short summary of the Sean Connery 007 Movies
1962 Dr. No
Sean Connery first says the famous line "Bond, James Bond" at the Baccarat Table before flying off to Jamaica. This movie introduced and hooked us on a love for exotic places, women and villains. Honey Ryder was the first infamous Bond Girl. Dr. No and his metallic hands, minions and evil plot set the tone for many villains of the 007 future. And we all learned how to put pillows under blankets to let others think we were fast asleep. From experience this rarely works in the real world. But then again giant spiders are not really poisonous and yet this movie is one of many why I am terrified of anything with eight hairy legs.
BOND - Sean Connery
BOND GIRL - Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress)
VILLAIN - Dr No (Joseph Wiseman)
MAIN ALLY - FELIX - Jack Lord
MONEY PENNY - Lois Maxwell
M - Bernard Lee

MUSICAL THEME - The original :JAMES BOND THEME" written by Monty Norman; Performed by John Barry & Orchestra
BOND TOYS - .32 Walther PPK (replacing the sissy Beretta 418), Geiger Counter, Self Destructor Bag, Rolex Submariner,
1963 From Russia With Love
SMERSH (acronym for Spetsyalnye MEtody Razoblacheniya SHpyonov meaning Special Methods of
Spy Detection) always seemed less scary than S.P.E.C.T.R.E. More like the parody version you might find in Austin Powers decades later. Funnier, SMERSH actually existed in Russia in the 1940s. KGB sounds better, no? But put SMERSH against S.P.E.C.T.R.E.... well lets just say you never want to be #2. Ever watch the History Channel's "Cities of the Underworld?" Well we get a great look at the underbelly of Turkey.
We start to learn of SPECTRE's (can you deal w/o the periods - I can) extensive network of spies and maniacal scientist and megalomaniacs. #1 (Later called Blofeld) puts #3 (Ex SMERSH and one of two inspirations for Frau Farbissina in Austin Powers) in charge. #3 / Klebb sends Tatiano Romanova, followed by Donald "Red"Grant.
SPECTRE is playing SMERSH against MI6. Red Grant kills a Russion Driver. Russia bombs Station T in retaliation... etc etc etc Eventually Bond, w/ Ali Kerim Bey (Turkey Station Chief ) meet up with Romanova and a stolen Lektor (Soviet cryptographic device) and escape the back and forth revenge plots on the Orient Express. Grant attacks, kills Bey, almost kills Bond, but trusty exploding brief case from Q allows Bond to get the upper hand.
Bond & Romanova escape to Venice, where Romanova saves Bond by shooting Klebb dressed as the hotel maid.
BOND - Sean Connery
BOND GIRL -Tatiano Romanova (Daniela Bianchi) Voiced over by Barbara Jefford
MAIN VILLAIN - Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya)
PRIMARY HENCHMAN Donald "Red" Grant (Robert Shaw)
BLOFELD (#1) - Anthony Dawson (Petting Cat) & Eric Pohlman (Voice)
MAIN ALLY - Ali Kerim Bey
MONEY PENNY - Lois Maxwell

MUSICAL THEME - "From Russia With Love" by Lional Bart (Bway fans perk up) Sung by Matt Monro. John Barry compsed score based on original Bond Theme - adding that famous THE BOMB IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE music that always proceeds the classic surf guitar licks.
BOND TOYS - Exploding Brief Case of Nerve Gas (Disguised as Talcum powder, AR-7 Survival Rifle, Bug Detector, Camera with hidden audio recorded, pager, radio phone in car,
1964 Goldfinger
This is probably my favorite Bond movie of all time. From the BOND CAR, iconic theme, amazing cast etc etc etc this movie is flawless and it is this movie that guaranteed us a life of Bond that seems endless...
FIRST PRE-CREDIT ACTION SEQUENCE
FIRST MAJOR BOND GADGETS / FIRST Q-BRANCH SCENE
FIRST MAJOR POP HIT BOND THEME
FIRST to truly inspire spoofs and knock offs....
FIRST LAZAR to almost cut Bond in half "I expect you to die Mr Bond!"
007 is on the trail of Auric Goldfinger. After catching Goldfinger cheating at the card table, Bond follows to Switzerland where we see the first ever BOND CAR. Bond is captured and brought to Kentucky - NO not to be tortured by BlueGrass and Moonshine...
Bond meets and hears the most famous Bond Girl name - Pussy Galore - "OF COURSE YOU ARE!" Still wonder how that made it pass the censors of 1964 LOL
In the US Goldfinger assembles the top Mafia Made Men to break in and rob Fort Knox. Captured, Bond seduces and convinces Ms Galore to get word to the Americans. They break in, the Calvary arrives, kills odd job and saves the day. Trying a last ditch revenge effort, Goldfinger fails to hijack Bond's plane and gets sucked out the window. Decompression really sucks...
BOND - Sean Connery
BOND GIRL - Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman)
MAIN VILLAIN - Goldfinger (Gert Frobe)
PRIMARY HENCHMAN Oddjob (Harold Sakata) and his famous deadly hat
MAIN ALLY - FELIX - Cec Linder
MONEY PENNY - Lois Maxwell
M - Bernard Lee
Q - Desmond Llewelyn
THEME MUSIC - CLASSIC SCORE/SONG by John Barry sung by Shirley Bassey
BOND TOYS - Astin Martin DB5 - THE ORIGINAL BOND CAR w/hubcap slashers, ejector seat, bulletproof shield, Machine Gun, Smoke & Oil Slicks - Inspiration for Spy Hunter!!! Dry Tuxedo in dry wet suit, homing beacon, Exploding Attache Case (AGAIN!), Signature Rolex,
1965 Thunderball
Movie open with possibly the funniest of all PreSequence scenes as SPECTRE #6 attends his own funeral in drag (as his own widow). Men in dresses make funny action sequences if you ask me... Might be my least fave of the Sean Connery 7. But unlike most I love the underwater sequences...
On forced vacation (by M) at health clinic , Bond stumbles onto SPECTRE operatives having Angelo (SPECTRE henchman) transformed via plastic surgery to become Francois Derval, French Pilot for NATO. Angelo - as Derval - hijacks a plane (Avro Vulcan) equipped with Nukes.
In the Bahamas, Angelo lands plane on water. Emilio Largo (#2), kills Angelo (trying extort more money) and recoups the bombs and hides plane. Most of the rest of the film as Bond with Felix and crew looking for plane & bombs, while trying to avoid SPECTRE henchman, fast driving killer woman, Mardi Gras type parade and sharks.
Climax features famous underwater battles of CIA Calvary and Largo's team. Complete with harpoon guns, knives, underwater submarine tanks and more.
Largo nearly escapes in his hyper speed boat that ejects from larger yacht (I always watch this and expect to see the scene where Bond & Bond Girls are dragged over coral reef - but that is years later with Roger Moore). Bond sneaks on board, Domino kills Largo, and they both jump off just in time before boat explodes into island chain.... Bond and Domino are flown away by tow line this time.
BOND - Sean Connery
BOND GIRL - Domino Derval
MAIN VILLAIN - Emilio Largo AKA #2 (Adolfo Celi) Voice Dubbed by Robert Rietty (This seems to happen a lot in Bond Films WTF?) - OH AND Kevin McClory - producer that made it hard for us at times to get even more Bond. (Just to see who is really reading and paying attention LOL)
PRIMARY HENCHMAN Fiona Volpe (Luciana Paluzzi) & Vargas (Philip Locke) who is killed way to easy considering he gives up "alcohol, smoking and sexual intercourse" to focus on being a killer
BLOFELD (#1) - Anthony Dawson (Petting Cat) & Eric Pohlman (Voice)
MAIN ALLY - FELIX - Rick Van Nutter
MONEY PENNY - Lois Maxwell
M - Bernard Lee
Q - Desmond Llewelyn
THEME MUSIC - Music by John Barry; Additional Lyrics Don Black; by sung by Tom Jones - not unusual at all if you ask me
BOND TOYS - Rocket Belt, Astin Martin in Opening Sequence now with Water guns, Underwater Camera / Geiger Counter, Under Water breather, Suped up jet pack Scuba tank w/spear gun etc, sky hook, distress beacon, flare gun... Homing Pill, Book with hidden audio recorder,
1967 You Only Live Twice
Another of my top 007 faves, this movie is full of action - Starting with James Bond faking his own death and buried at sea... And teaming up with my favorite Bond ally - Tiger Tanaka. Of course script by Roald Dahl had no Chocolate, Peaches or Foxes. Many complain but I love all the cool gadgets including Autogyro attack copter...
Cold war tension is at its height when both American and Soviet space craft disappear. Bond travels to Japan to find the infamous Ernst Stavro Blofeld himself. Until now we have only seen his cat petting and maniacal order giving skills.
Teaming up with Tiger Tanaka, the Japanese secret service leader who assures 007 Japan is not behind the hijackings, Bond investigates Osato Chemicals. Mr Osato orders Helga Brandt to kill Bond. Bond escapes. Aki is killed as they discover Osato's roll in securing rocket fuel. After Bond escapes, Blofeld kills Helga in pool of Piranha.
Bond now pairs up with Kissy Suzuki. Disguised as a Japanese Man (Not to convincingly if you ask me) Bond pretends to marry Kissy. They discover a secret rocket base in the Volcano (possibly the most parodied set of Bond history) housing BIRD ONE. While Kissy alerts Tiger, bond attepmts to sneak onto Bird One. Blofeld captures 007.
With US/USSR On the brink of nuclear war, BIRD ONE closes in on another American Space Craft. Tanakas ninjas attack the mountain. Bond is able to get the hatch open. Ninjas battle Blofeld's private army. Blofeld kills Osata before escaping. Bond fights and kills Hans. (Eat German Henchman perform great with most evil deeds but never quite get the job done wen it comes to 007). Bond hits self destruct button on BIRD ONE. Blofeld activates the base's self destruct button but all get out in time.

This movie is totally ridiculous. But every time I want to call it my least fave of the SC 7, I realize the ridiculousness as a certain charm.
The opening sequence has Bond fighting and killing Blofeld Clones. Blofeld drowns boiling in hot mud.
Mr Wint & Mr Kidd are sadistically campy.
Willard Whyte is a bit 2 - dimensional as Howard Hughes type reclusive tycoon (Played by Jimmy Dean)
Turns out Blofeld survived and is pretending to be Willard Whyte, using a device to change his voice.
Blofel uses diamonds for a "LASAR" satelite that destroys Nukes in China, USSR and US. Auction is open to highest bidder.

Remember Thunderball? Pretty Much same movie. I recently caught second half of Thunderball and thought of this movie's first half...
But as I remember I like this movie better. Bond is once again at health clinic, semi retired. This time, Domino's brother (Domino Derval is now Domino Petachi) is coerced into helping SPECTRE rather than replaced by double. He is given a fake eye to resemble US President to gain access to replace practice bombs with real nukes. They steal the nukes and hold ransom for billions.
Remember that classic scene where Bond pretends to be masseuse?
How about comic relief form Rowan Atkinson as Nigel Small-Fawcett (A penis joke I think)
Fiona Volpe is replaced by Fatima Blush, as the femme fatal. Kills Jack Petachi, captures Bond, demanding he write her as his #1 in bed in his memoirs, gets killed by pen gun.
Emilio Largo is replaced with Maximilian Largo. 3D World Domination Game is pretty cool and a bit ahead of its time.
Bond chases Largo to Bahamas, Nice, North Africa and finally to the TEARS OF ALLA. Calvary once again engages in shoot them out battle with SPECTRE. This time under Oasis instead of under water. Well until Bond fights with Largo.
Domino once again kills Largo. Bond and Domino return to Bahamas. Bye Bye Sean Connery as James Bond.... SINGLE TEAR...

1962 Dr. No
Sean Connery first says the famous line "Bond, James Bond" at the Baccarat Table before flying off to Jamaica.

Another of my top 007 faves, this movie is full of action - Starting with James Bond faking his own death and buried at sea... And teaming up with my favorite Bond ally - Tiger Tanaka. Marvel's Thor & Thor: Dark World
While I enjoyed these movies, they are not my favorite of the Marvel film series. But they are far from the bottom of my list. I think - maybe - these movies are less superhero movies and more Lord Of The Rings meets Vikings. More historical epic poem along the lines of Class of the Titans or Beowolf. With the attack on Asgard, the second movie almost becomes an episode of Star Wars. I would rank it above Hulk (both recent incarnations) and Fantastic Four films. I generally like all of these films more than recent DC Comics' offerings.
I will say I find these movies visually stunning. The 2011 movie was one of my favorite in 3D. The intergalactic travel was beautiful. Really felt like you are flying though the cosmos.
Thor:
I love the way the movie introduces Hawkeye. And Clark Gregg agent Coulsen probably earned his right to a TV series starting with this movie- solidified by work and death in the Avengers.
This movie seemed a little anti climatic from the epic hero style around these days, HOWEVER, you really felt the quality of movie form the story and actors was tremendous thanks to Kenneth Branagh. Many of the Asgardians did the movie because of Branagh and gave the script a Shakespearean treatment. Perhaps being a small midwest town as a backdrop for the big fight is small compared to New york.

I do love the Character Loki played by Tom Hiddleston. We have a modern Iago. Someone that will never be happy. Plagued by jealously, he is full of hate. But this type would never be happy with success. I remember Michael Cain form Dark Night "Some people just want to see the world burn". Such is this Loki
Chris Hemsworth makes a great Thor. This is a tough character. He is not human. He is not truly a God. This origin story of Thor as a Earthly Hero is very good. But I feel we have seen it before. Almost like Starman with Jeff Bridges. A brilliant interstellar being that seems off guard by the newness of Earth - Especially the United States South West. Thor is ready to take the thrown - or so he thought. Hubris - so common in epic tales, right - gets the better of his judgement and Odin has to rescue the whole Asrgardian team form the world of the Frost Giants. Stripped of his powers he is a fallen god on Earth - Think Misha Collins with Muscles. But sacrificing himself to save his friends is just the things he needed to prove worthy to reclaim Mjolnir. He destroys the Destroyer (Anyone else think this is a rip off of GORT - name that movie) and then returns to Asgard, destroys the Bi Frost, and fights with Loki. All is almost lost until daddy saves them both once again.

Thor: Dark World
While the writing and acting and directing of the first movie are far superior, this movie is full of action. Apparently a lot of background on the Dark Elves and Malekith were left on the cutting room floor - or computer database these days I suppose. I hope we seem them in the DVD release. While the movie is a roller coaster of action from Svartalfheim to Asgard to Earth. But - while Malekith comes off as epically powerful and older than time itself, we don't get much more. We understand he is motivated by revenge as Asgard detroyed most of his kind 1000s of years ago. But I feel if you are not a reader of the comics you probably missed a bunch there.
Dr Jane Foster and crew find a portal between worlds created by planetary alignment. Missing for 5 hours, she is infected by the Aether, a power Asgardians - led by Odin's father Bor (Asgardian for "life of the party") - ripped from Malikith in the prehistoric times. As Jane releases the Aether, Malekith is awakened from eternal sleep.
Odin is not pleased when Thor bring Jane to Asgard for help. The Aether is deadly and foretells an ancient prophesy. Malekith attacks Asgard, sending Algrim (as Kursed) ahead to infiltrate defenses. Protecting Jane, Frigga sacrifices herself. Kurse barely gets Malekith out of Asgard alive - suffering a severe burn on his face - once Odin and Thor catch up to scene.
This is just enough to get Loki to help revenge their mother's death. They trick Malekith to remove the Aether form Jane, but fail to destroy the evil force. Loki is mortally injured in the fight. Thor and Jane find another portal to Earth, just in time as Malekith arrives to use the convergence to spread th Aether throughout the universe.
The ensuing battle is confusing. Although once again visually stunning. Gravity and reality are both bent out of shape due to the convergence. portals between various worlds send the combatantsevery which way - fighting while out of control of various forces. Thor keeps missing Mjolnir as gravity shifts. Basically the movies best showing of string theory to date...
Thor finally sends Malekith back to Svartalfheim where his ship crushes the Accursed.

Trailer
Chris Hemsworth as Thor:
The crown prince of Asgard, based on the Norse mythological deity of the same name. Director Kenneth Branagh and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige chose Hemsworth after a back-and-forth process in which the 27-year-old actor was initially dropped from consideration and then given a second chance to read for the part. Hemsworth stated that he gained 20 pounds for the role by eating non-stop and revealed that "It wasn't until Thor that I started lifting weights, it was all pretty new to me." Regarding his take of the character, Hemsworth said, "We just kept trying to humanize it all, and keep it very real. Look into all the research about the comic books that we could, but also bring it back to 'Who is this guy as a person, and what's his relationship with people in the individual scenes?'" About approaching Thor's fighting style, he remarked, "First, we looked at the comic books and the posturing, the way [Thor] moves and fights, and a lot of his power seems to be drawn up through the ground. We talked about boxers, you know, Mike Tyson, very low to the ground and big open chest and big shoulder swings and very sort of brutal but graceful at the same time, and then as we shot stuff things became easier."
Natalie Portman as Dr. Jane Foster:
A scientist and Thor's love interest. Marvel Studios stated in an announcement that the character was updated from the comics' initial portrayal for the feature adaptation. When asked why she took the role, Portman replied, "I just thought it sounded like a weird idea because Kenneth Branagh's directing it, so I was just like, 'Kenneth Branagh doing Thor is super-weird, I've gotta do it.'" Portman stated that she really wanted to do a big effects film that emphasized character, and getting to do it with Branagh was a new way of approaching it, relative to Star Wars. Regarding her preparation for the role Portman remarked, "I signed on to do it before there was a script. And Ken, who's amazing, who is so incredible, was like, 'You can really help create this character'. I got to read all of these biographies of female scientists like Rosalind Franklin who actually discovered the DNA double helix but didn't get the credit for it. The struggles they had and the way that they thought – I was like, 'What a great opportunity, in a very big movie that is going to be seen by a lot of people, to have a woman as a scientist'. She's a very serious scientist. Because in the comic she's a nurse and now they made her an astrophysicist. Really, I know it sounds silly, but it is those little things that makes girls think it's possible. It doesn't give them a [role] model of 'Oh, I just have to dress cute in movies'". Hiddleston promoting the film in London in April 2011.
Tom Hiddleston as Loki:
Thor's adoptive brother and nemesis based on the deity of the same name. Hiddleston was chosen after previously working with Branagh on Ivanov and Wallander. Initially Hiddleston auditioned to play Thor but Branagh decided his talent would be better harnessed playing Loki. Hiddleston stated that "Loki's like a comic book version of Edmund in King Lear, but nastier." Hiddleston stated that he had to keep a strict diet before the start of filming because "Ken [Branagh] wants Loki to have a lean and hungry look, like Cassius in Julius Caesar. Physically, he can't be posing as Thor". Hiddleston looked at Peter O'Toole as inspiration for Loki as well explaining, "Interestingly enough, [Kenneth Branagh] said to look at Peter O'Toole in two specific films, The Lion in Winter and Lawrence of Arabia. What's interesting about ... his performance [as King Henry] is you see how damaged he is. There's a rawness [to his performance]; it's almost as if he's living with a layer of skin peeled away. He's grandiose and teary and, in a moment, by turns hilarious and then terrifying. What we wanted was that emotional volatility. It's a different acting style, it's not quite the same thing, but it's fascinating to go back and watch an actor as great as O'Toole head for those great high hills".
Idris Elba as Heimdall: The all-seeing, all-hearing Asgardian sentry of the bifröst bridge, based on the mythological deity of the same name. Elba said Branagh's involvement was a major incentive to take the role: "[Branagh] called me up personally and said, 'I know this isn't a big role, but I would really love to see you play it.' It's Kenneth Branagh. I was like, 'Definitely'". About the role Elba remarked, "I did green screen for the first time! I wouldn't like to do a whole movie of green screen, though. You kind of forget the plot a little—like being in a Broadway play and doing it over and over and forgetting your line halfway through". Elba stated he has made a four-picture commitment with Marvel Studios. Elba's casting prompted a proposed boycott by the Council of Conservative Citizens and a debate amongst comic book fans, some insisting it was wrong for a black man to play a Nordic god. In response Elba called the debate "ridiculous".

Anthony Hopkins as Odin: The ruler of Asgard, father of Thor, and adoptive father of Loki, based on the mythological deity of the same name. In an interview Hopkins stated he knew nothing of the comic. About the film he said, "It's a superhero movie, but with a bit of Shakespeare thrown in". Hopkins stated, "I'm very interested in that relationship between fathers and sons", and that, "My father's relationship with me was cold. He was a hot-blood character but to me, cold. When I was young, he expressed his disappointment because I was bad in school and all of that. He didn't mean any harm, but I felt I could never meet up to his expectations." Hopkins expressed that he found a personal resonance in the Odin role, saying, "He's a stern man. He's a man with purpose. I play the god who banishes his son from the kingdom of Asgard because he screwed up. He's a hot-headed, temperamental young man... probably a chip off of the old block but I decide he's not really ready to rule the future kingdom, so I banish him. I'm harsh and my wife complains and I say, 'That is why I'm king.' He's ruthless, take-it-or-leave-it. Women are much more forgiving; men are not so forgiving. I know in my life, my karma is, 'If you don't like it, tough, move on.' And I move on. I'm a little like Odin myself".
Christopher Eccleston as Malekith:
The ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. About Malekith's motivation, Eccleston said, "There is a kind of tragic quality to his quest. Because he’s lost his wife, he’s lost his children. He’s lost everything. And he returns for revenge. And the agent for his revenge is the Aether. If he gets hold of that, he is omnipotent." Eccleston continued, "What I thought about a great deal was revenge—there's huge amounts of revenge. One quote is: 'When you seek revenge, be sure to dig two graves.' I did a film called Revengers Tragedy where I played a guy called Vindici—from the word 'vindictive'—and he is the distillation of revenge. So, in a way, that was what I had to think of: how revenge can make you absolutely monomaniacal—though you're still trying to make it recognizably motive-led. It's just the personification of movie evil." However Taylor stated that a lot of scenes involving Malekith's backstory had to be cut from the film to make it more efficient. Eccleston revealed that he speaks an invented language for the film explaining, "The Elvish language is definitely based on European languages. I think there’s probably some Finnish in there. It does have its logic and its rhythms. It also has many syllables and it’s very difficult to do while remaining naturalistic. It’s been a particular challenge for us but hopefully it gives the film some complexity and variety." Eccleston also said the role required six hours of make-up and 45 minutes in wardrobe
Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Erik Selvig:
A scientist doing research in New Mexico who encounters Thor. Skarsgård stated that he was not initially familiar with the comic book version of Thor. As to why he took the part, Skarsgård remarked, I "chose Thor because of [director] Kenneth Branagh. The script was nice and we got to rehearse and talk to the writers and do some collaborating in the process to make it fit us. So I had a very happy time on it. What I always try to do is immediately do something I just haven't done so I get variation in my life. I've made about 90 films and if I did the same thing over and over again I would be bored by now. I try to pick different films, I go and do those big ones and having done that I can usually afford to go and do some really small obscure films and experiment a little".
Colm Feore as Laufey:
King of the Frost Giants and Loki's biological father, based on the mythological being of the same name, who in myth was actually Loki's mother. Feore stated it took five hours for his makeup to be applied. About his character Feore remarked, "I am the King of Frost Giants. And if you've seen any of the Frost Giants, you know that I am, of course, the Napoleon of Frost Giants. We've got some massive, fabulous guys who dwarf me and come in at around eight-and-a-half feet, nine feet. But, no. Can't you tell by the commanding presence? I am the boss". He said the Shakespearean training he shared with Hopkins and director Branagh helped keep production moving briskly, saying that "during the breaks, Tony, myself and Ken would be talking in Shakespearean shorthand about what the characters were doing, what we thought they may be like, and how we could focus our attention more intelligently. These were discussions that took no more than a few minutes between takes, but they allowed Ken, Tony and [me] to understand each other instantly without Ken taking an hour away to explain to the actors exactly what was going on. So that was enormously helpful."
Ray Stevenson as Volstagg:
A member of the Warriors Three; a group of three Asgardian adventurers who are among Thor's closest comrades, known for both his hearty appetite and wide girth. Stevenson previously worked with Kenneth Branagh in the 1998 film The Theory of Flight, and with Marvel Studios as the titular character in Punisher: War Zone. Stevenson wore a fat suit for the role, stating, "I've tried the suit on, and what they've done is kind of sex him up: he's sort of slimmer but rounder.". Stevenson said, "He's got every bit of that Falstaffian verve and vigor, and a bit of a beer gut to suggest that enormous appetite, but he's not the sort of Weeble-shaped figure he is in the comics. He's Falstaff with muscles. I've got this amazing foam-injected undersuit that flexes with me."
Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis:
A political science major who is Jane Foster's intern. Dennings described her character as Foster's "little helper gnome". Dennings stated that her role was expanded during the rehearsal process. Dennings explained, "She's kind of like a cute, clueless, little puppy or maybe a hamster. There wasn't much on the page for the Darcy role to begin with and I didn't even see a script before I took the job so I didn't really know who Darcy was at first. But she really evolved—she's so much fun now even. She's very Scooby-Doo if that makes sense. She's always three steps behind and reacting to what's happening with these great expressions ... She gets things wrong and doesn't care."
Rene Russo as Frigga:
The wife of Odin, queen of Asgard, mother of Thor and adoptive mother of Loki, based on the mythological deity of the same name. Russo stated in March 2011 interview that she has signed on for possible sequels, joking that, "Eventually they'll kick me out, so who knows how many I'll do".
Tadanobu Asano as Hogun:
A member of the Warriors Three, primarily identified by his grim demeanor and as the only member who is not an Æsir. Ray Stevenson said of Asano's character, "He doesn't speak much but when he does, everybody shuts up. But also in the healing room where everyone licks their wounds, he's the guy who just goes about his business".
Joshua Dallas as Fandral:
A member of the Warriors Three, characterized as an irrepressible swashbuckler and romantic. Stuart Townsend was initially cast after Zachary Levi was forced to vacate the role due to a scheduling conflict. However, days before filming began, Townsend was replaced by Dallas citing "creative differences". Dallas said he believed that Fandral "would like to think of himself a philanderer. He would like to think of himself, I was saying, as the R. Kelly of Asgard. He's a lover, not a fighter". Dallas mentioned that Errol Flynn was an inspiration for the character stating, "He was a big inspiration for the character and for me. I watched a lot of his movies and kind of got that into my bones. I tried to bring out that little bit of Flynn-ness in it. Flynn had a lot of that boyish charm that Fandral's got...."
Jaimie Alexander as Sif:
A warrior and Thor's childhood friend based on the mythological deity of the same name. Alexander was best known for her portrayal of Jessi XX on the ABC Family series Kyle XY.[47] Alexander said that she was familiar with Marvel Comics before having taken the part, having grown up with four brothers. Alexander said the part required hours a day in the gym, though training is not unfamiliar to her, explaining she was one of few girls on her Colleyville, Texas, high-school wrestling team. Alexander described her character as "one of the guys" and that, "She's a very talented, skilled warrior and can stand on her own against any villain in the film". About her relationship with Thor she stated, "She is very loyal to Thor and cares a lot about protecting him and protecting Asgard"

Stan Lee Projects w/o Marvel
Have you seen some of the animated films airing on TV, Netflix and Direct to Video. Stan Lee was one of the first and continues to try and make Super Heroes that reflect all walks of life. Real People with real problems that, when gifted with Super Powers, often have bigger problems to deal.
This new series of character is expanding ethnic and other barriers rarely seen in American heroes. And these are real character. SO MUCH BETTER than the horrible attempts in the 1980s by DC comics to diversify. No Apache Chief with horrible representation of Native Americans etc (Look like Indian from John Wayne movie)
Here are some of the Projects Stan Lee has produced with no relation to Marvel or DC...
Stan Lee's MIGHTY 7 2014
I have heard of this for a while and discovered it finally has been made and released. HUB aired a pilot on Feb 1, 2014. I am on the hunt to see it. Stan Lee plays himself as he discovers a two groups of aliens and turns them into Superheroes. COOL!!! Here is a clip form THE HUB on YOUTUBE...
Stan Lee's Mighty 7 #1
CHAKRA THE INVINCIBLE 2013
I have yet to see this 65-minute animated movie. Made and released to Cartoon Network India has aired in both English and Hindi. As soon as I finish this post i am going to try and find it an nupdate with review...
PLOT from WIKI The movie features Raju Rai, a young Indian boy living in Mumbai, India. Raju's mentor, the scientist Dr. Singh, develops a technology suit. The suit weaponizes all the Chakras in the body. Raju uses its powers to be a Superhero. Raju vows to use the suit to protect and serve as he battles super-villains.
Verticus - 2012 Video Game inspired by Stand Lee
TIME JUMPER 2009 Mobile Series
The Condor - Skater Dude becomes a Superhero... I love this. Saw this a few years ago on Netflix. Tony Valdez (voiced by Wilmer Valderrama - FEZ) is left with out parents or legs after gang retaliation and corporate sabotage. He can no longer turn his back on his father's Robotics firm. Using experimental Nanobots, Tony gains super powers. This is geared towards teens. Edgier than most of Stan Lee's animated features. Only Stan Lee could make such a horrible premise so good!!!
Stan Lee Presents: Condor
"Tony's wobble but they don't fall down" Great line but does anyone under 30 understand this reference LOL
Mosaic - This and Condor came out around same time. Perhaps Same Time. Saw them both years ago a Netflix. Maggie Nelson (Anna Paquin X Men, True Blood) - through exposure to electrical storm and magic rune - gains super chameleon powers. Think Spider Man with shape shifting and other mimc skills (Including Vocal and Invisability), super vision (Infrared). Again on paper a bad Spider man rip off but Stan Lee makes the Bizarre seem acceptable. These powers all stem from a hidden ancient race - The Chameliel. Mosaic is actually Chameliel hero. Maggie becomes his apprentice of sorts. Another Chameliel, Maniken, is seeking relics to become a god and rule the earth. Lots of action and cool original mythology makes this a winner.
NOT SURE WHY but Condor is available for Free on YOUTUBE. Stan Lee Presents: Mosaic is avail on Amazon. Might still be avail on Netflix.

STRIPPERELLA 2003 SPIKE TV
BASICALLY: Stan Lee gives Pamela Anderson's Barbed Wire and Animated life. ADULTS ONLY. Of course parents let kids watch South Park so...
Stripperella - Season One - Uncensored - DVD

ON SYFY CHANNEL 2006-2007 - So not every Stan Lee Project is a winner with me. I really wanted to love the Reality Show WHO WANTS TO BE A SUPER HERO. The only thing worse was LIGHT SPEED, the made for TV movie based on a Season One Winner.
HISTORY CHANNEL 2010-2012 Stan Lee's Superhumans was pretty cool at times. Kind of like a reboot of THAT's INCREDIBLE (Dating my self here - watch out)

I love my job!!! Every time i research one thing, I stumble onto some other gem new to me... Researching Stan Lee Projects not with DC & Marvel I found Chakra. Which led to this golden nugget...
So if you watch shows like Ancient Aliens or History Channel you have heard of the Mahabharata. Ancient Alien conspiracy nut jobs think this (Like every biblical story and equiv in other religions) is sign of an ancient Alien War. Mahabharata - translated to "the great tale of the Bhārata dynasty" - is the oldest known epic poem (10,000 year+)

Transformers: Age of Extinction Teaser Trailer
Dinobots? finally!!!
This movie looks amazing. But all three did. Hopefully Michael Bay spends more time on the story and real people in the movie. Cast performances already look better. Hire some actresses to replace pretty bumps on a log and you might have a great movie. Last three you really got the sense that female cast was made on a couch, not a studio. Talents were not in acting...
Of course that was fixed by having a reality show for Chinese actors. This process worked so well for Glee and Broadway, right? Glad studio and Michael Bay have a lot of respect for trained actors...
Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, a single father and struggling inventor.
Nicola Peltz as Tessa Yeager, Cade's daughter.
Jack Reynor as Shane Dyson, Tessa's boyfriend and a race car driver.
Stanley Tucci as Joshua, an arrogant designer who wants to build his own robots.
Sophia Myles as Darcy, Joshua's geologist assistant.
Kelsey Grammer as Harold Attinger, a paranoid government official and the main human antagonist.
T. J. Miller as Lucas, Cade's best friend and a mechanic.
Titus Welliver as Savoy, leader of the team of agents hired by Attinger.
Li Bingbing as Su Yueming, the "CEO of the Chinese Transformers".
Melanie Specht as the "Grande Dame", Joshua's senior executive assistant.
Victoria Summer as Joshua’s executive assistant.
Han Geng was cast in an unspecified role. Byron Li, Austin Lin, Candice Zhao and Teresa Daley are cast in roles after winning the reality television show Transformers 4 Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show

Bruce Wayne Role Cast in Fox’s Batman Series - Kid from Touch
I am big time excited about this show. My only fear, like so many Batman spin offs (BIRDS OF PREY ring a bell) does the back story and minor characters TV producers can afford going to hold the attention of non-die hard fans?
FROM VARIETY...
There’s a new budding millionaire bachelor in Gotham City. Warner Bros. TV has tapped “Touch” alum David Mazouz for the role of a pre-teen Bruce Wayne in “Gotham,” the studio’s Batman origins drama for Fox. Mazouz will play boy who leans on his butler Alfred and Commissioner James Gordon for guidance after his wealthy parents are murdered. Bruce Wayne has traditionally been the alter ego of the Caped Crusader — but Mazouz will not at any point become Batman in the show, something Warner Bros. took pains to point that out in announcing the casting. Mazouz played Kiefer Sutherland’s son in the Fox drama “Touch.” Also cast in “Gotham,” which has a series order from Fox, is Camren Bicondova, who will play Selina Kyle, a teenage orphan and street thief who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable. Deals for Mazouz and Bicondova mark the last two regular roles to be cast in “Gotham, » - Variety Staff
