Richard Donner has confirmed that a Goonies Sequel is in the works. Is this because of the new TV show The Goldbergs? Have not seen the new show much but every preview commercial seems to be a parody of some 80s movie. I hear the Goonies episode was a hit....

I have seen the original movie maybe 100 times. The search for hidden treasure on the coastal town was the perfect backdrop for adventure. With bumbling idiot yet sinister baddies recently out of jail (Momma gave me nightmares) and even more sinister real estate father of town bully the movie was perfect for a band of misfit heroes.
What ever happened to Short Round? I mean Data? Wow that kid had the coolest character names.
